We are a Christian charity set up to support vulnerable adults living in Ayr, South Ayrshire.
We head out on to the streets of Ayr every Thursday evening and we provide hot drinks and food. We offer a listening ear and we do what we can help those in need.
We offer emotional and addiction support from lived experience and years of working within the health & social care sector.
We have contacts that can assist with furniture, housing and other practical support.
We invite those that join us on a Thursday evening on an annual Summer Trip and Christmas Outing. Who doesn't love a pantomime?!
We also like to celebrate peoples birthdays by getting them a card, small gift and singing to them. Hip hip hooray1
This charity was set up by Suzanne Algeo (Holden), who has been involved with a similar initiative in Kilmarnock. After that work ended, and after much prayer and deliberation, she believed that God was calling her to start something similar in Ayr. With this burden and the desire to make a difference, she started fundraising as a way of getting the 'wheels in motion'.
Very quickly, everything started to fall into place with a bus being provided free of charge by Brian Souter. It was only when she took the step of faith that the provision came and the work began in 2010!
The charity now has over 20 volunteers who help at various points throughout the month.
We could not do it without them!
